What is the difference between

Cord Closures

Sliding Square Knot

A Sliding Square Knot

ONE knot adjusting by pulling ends tighter or looser

Advantage

  • Easy to Adjust

  • Has a wider range of size

  • Can go extra small

    Disadvantage

  • Shows excess string when pulled tight

Sliding Barrel Knots

A Double Barrel Sliding knot

TWO knots adjusting independently by sliding them closer or further away from the front of the bracelet

Advantage

  • If you layer bracelets don’t have a bunch of excess string hanging down

  • It holds stronger

    Disadvantage

  • Adjustability is limited in how small and big you can go

  • Difficult to adjust by yourself

Why do you only use Black or White Cord?

When I first started making the bracelets, the thought was to only use white cord symbolizing Virtue, God, Holiness, and Renewal.

However, as I experimented with black cord, I realized that the contrast between the black cord and the symbolic design was a reminder that we live in an ever darkening world that can be brightened by our faith, hope, belief and courage.
